Designed with proximal and distal plugs that can be removed individually or together as needed, the orthotic accommodates variations in a patient's foot and toe length — the plugs can be removed when fitting so the head of the 1st metatarsophalangeal joint (MPJ) coincides with the removed section. In cases requiring maximum effect, such as structural hallux limitus, both plugs can be removed to offer a larger path of least resistance to the joint, enhancing 1st ray function.
