VALD AirBands - Blood Flow Restriction Cuffs. Get more from your workout with Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training.
One Size Fits Most Arms
Dont worry about sizing, the adjustable straps on your AirBands fit most arms.
Arm cuff: 25cm – 45cm/ 10 inches – 18 inches
No Manual Pump
No fussing about with external pumps. AirBands inflate and deflate to exact pressure automatically.
Intelligent Pressure
The Air Bands app automatically calculates your personalised pressure zone.
The benefits of Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training:
- Increase strength
- Maximise muscle
- Improve endurance
What is Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training?
Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training is the addition of specialised cuffs to dynamic exercise. The cuffs are inflated to the point where blood flow is impaired partially in the limbs, subsequent blood pooling in the limb, leads to increase in metabolic waster build up, leading to a cascade of beneficial physiological mechanisms in the body, stimulating acerbated increases in strength and muscle size through:
- Higher recruitment of fast twitch muscle fibres
- Systemic and localised hormone production
- Increased muscle protein synthesis
This method has been a significant literature base with; 2 published meta analysis and over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles to date. Blood Flow Restriction Training has been explored by NASA as part of their Enhanced Countermeasure Program and used by over 500 elite sporting organisations world wide.
The science behind Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) training
After applying AirBands to the upper arms and thighs, the cuffs are inflated, so the blood returning to the heart is partially restricted, which leads to:
Increased fast twitch muscle
Positive hormone production
Improved muscle protein synthesis
As a result, BFR training causes a cascade of beneficial physiological mechanics, which improve muscle strength, size and endurance at an accelerated rate.
