The Serola SIJ Belt is a sacroiliac (SI) joint belt that wraps around the hips, not the waist. It acts as an external ligament to stabilise the base of the spine and help the SI joint move within a normal range. A non-elastic layer creates a stop point at the end of normal range of motion, and an elastic layer compresses the joint and supports posture. It’s made from hypoallergenic foam, so it can be worn directly against the skin. It has no buckles or pads, so it’s low profile, and it can be worn around the clock, including during sleep.
Key features:
- Non-elastic layer: acts like a ligament, with a stop point at the end of normal range of motion
- Elastic layer: compresses the SI joint and supports posture
- Worn around the hips: stabilises the base of the spine
- Hypoallergenic foam: can be worn directly against the skin
- No buckles or pads: low profile
- Supports ligaments, not muscles: designed to preserve muscle function and strength
- Suitable for extended wear: can be worn 24 hours a day, including during sleep
- Care: hand wash in hot or cold water, rinse thoroughly in cold water to remove soap residue, and line dry. Don’t machine wash
Indications:
- Sacroiliac (SI) joint instability or dysfunction
- Pelvic girdle dysfunction
- Symphysis pubis dysfunction
- Pelvic torsion
- Piriformis syndrome
- Sciatica
- Disc herniation
- Facet syndrome
- Scoliosis
- Spondylolisthesis
- Lateral canal stenosis
- Spinal subluxations

Fitting and precautions:
- Wear it around the hips, not the waist. To find the right spot, stand, lift your leg and find the crease that forms near the hip
- Fit it with a tension similar to tying a shoe. Too much or too little tension can cause muscle spasm
- It shouldn’t cause discomfort, which is usually from incorrect positioning. If discomfort continues once it’s correctly positioned, stop use
