The Proxi® TFCC Strap supports the distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ) after injuries to the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). Most severe TFCC injuries are treated surgically, while less severe injuries can sometimes be rehabilitated with hand exercises and an orthosis. The strap can be used before surgery to reduce instability and maintain strength and function of the hand, and in the later post-operative phase once functional training has started. A U-shaped, pre-shaped thermoplastic stabilisation element sits over the ulnar side of the ulna head to support the DRUJ during loading. Two dynamic straps give individual, adjustable support without limiting wrist flexion or extension. The palm stays free, so gripping tools or racquets is easy. The strap is universal for left and right hands.

- Care: wash weekly, following the care label. Close all straps, use a laundry bag, and do not exceed the maximum temperature, as the thermoplastic may deform.
Indications:
- Instability of the DRUJ after TFCC injury
- Subluxation of the ulna head
- Pain or weakness over the ulnar (little-finger) side of the wrist
Contraindications: patients with circulatory or oedema problems should not use this product unless advised by a therapist or doctor.
Fitting and precautions:
- Anyone with an injury should consult a doctor or therapist for an individual rehabilitation plan
- Patients with poor circulation, reduced sensation or diabetes should watch for pressure marks or local swelling
- Discontinue use and contact a doctor if the condition worsens
- When applying, attach the dynamic straps without tension on the elastic hook section. Once fitted, the strap should give slight support and compression over the ulnar side of the wrist.
